Competition Rules

Clear entry rules, clear season structure, clear consequences.

These rules define who may apply, how contestants move from registration into auditions and public voting, what standards of behavior apply, and the circumstances under which MTPN may suspend, reject, or disqualify participation.

Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

MTPN Season One is open only to contestants who are at least 16 years old and not older than 35 at the time they apply. Applicants are expected to provide truthful personal details and may be required to support those details through documents, contact confirmation, or later review checks.

Entry Fee

Registration is paid and final.

The application fee is ₦5,500. Once payment is completed, it is final and non-refundable, including where an applicant is not selected, is asked to correct a submission, or does not move beyond internal review.

Selection Flow

Judges filter contestants before public voting.

Only contestants approved by admins and later selected by judges can move into the public voting phase. Registration alone does not create a right to public listing, public voting, or participation in every later stage of the season.

Contestant Duties

Accuracy, conduct, and availability matter.

Applicants must submit truthful profile information, remain reachable through the contact details they provide, attend assigned auditions or scheduled activities, and maintain conduct consistent with MTPN standards throughout the season.

Disqualification

Fraud, impersonation, or misconduct can end participation.

MTPN may reject, suspend, or disqualify contestants for false submissions, abusive behavior, impersonation, vote manipulation, campaign abuse, missed required appearances, non-cooperation with production needs, or other rule breaches.

Finale Logic

Final results are hybrid by default.

Unless later changed by MTPN, the winner is determined through a hybrid result model that combines valid public votes with judges' scoring in the final stage. Public popularity alone should not be assumed to override final-stage judging.

Season Structure

The competition moves in defined windows.

  • Registration opens for applicants to submit profiles and complete payment.
  • Admin review determines whether submissions are complete and suitable for the next stage.
  • Approved contestants move into auditions and live review.
  • Judges determine who qualifies for the public voting stage.
  • Public voting, shortlists, camp activity, and finale progression follow the published season windows.

Public Listing

MTPN controls when a contestant becomes public.

MTPN may decide when to publish a contestant profile, when to attach a contestant code, when to activate share tools, and when to allow that contestant to receive public votes. Being admitted into one stage of the process does not automatically create access to all later public-facing stages.

Behavior Standards

Contestants represent more than their own entry.

Contestants may be publicly tied to MTPN through profiles, media, interviews, promotional content, and physical events. Conduct that damages the credibility of the competition, threatens other participants, or creates operational risk may be treated as a serious breach even outside a formal performance setting.

Decision Rights

MTPN retains final administrative discretion.

MTPN may interpret, apply, and enforce these rules as needed for fair administration, safety, scheduling practicality, brand protection, and competition integrity. Operational decisions, shortlist decisions, and enforcement decisions remain final except where MTPN expressly chooses to revisit them.
